AJ’s Corner@Godians Assembly: 29 Feb 24 - Our Role in Creation

1. Introduction

▪ We are an intricate (essential) part of the government led by Jesus.

▪ Once we become BA we are citizens of heaven, citizens of the kingdom of God

God becomes our father and we are His children, His ambassadors

Let your life be lived such that it reflects the gospel.

Let your life do the preaching.

2. Preaching to all creatures?

▪ When we become Born Again, one of the things we are called to do is in:

Mark 16:15 NIV

15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation’

▪ What is ‘all creation’ ‘every creature’?

Something created - animate or inanimate e.g. the environment, plants, creatures

▪ How do I preach to inanimate / plants?

Gen 1:26-28

NKJV

26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over [g]all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.  28 Then God blessed themand God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that [h]moves on the earth.”

▪ Be fruitful – Always producing

▪ Multiply – Always increasing

▪ Replenish – Always fill and re-fill i.e. use and consume, but you are obligated by God to restock, re-fill and replace what you have used.

▪ Subdue the earth – If you don’t control your environment, it will control you. Things will come up that need to be subdued and put back in rightful order.

If we are not living this, we are not obeying God's original command in the beginning.

Discussion:

How can we apply this commanded blessing in our day to day lives?

Example - Depletion of the earth

▪ Research shows about 1,000 tonnes of elephant tusks per year were taken from Africa to Europe for use as Ivory

Imagine how many of these beautiful, stately animals were killed yearly.

▪ Rhinos were also killed for their horns

▪ We can make impact as human beings. When we don’t replenish the earth we begin to devalue it

3. Insight into The Earth

Gen 4:9 NKJV

9 Then the Lord said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?”

He said, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?”

10 And He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground.

11 So now you are cursed from the earth, which has opened its mouth to receive your brother’s blood from your hand.

12 When you till the ground, it shall no longer yield its strength to you. A fugitive and a vagabond you shall be on the earth.”

What is changing the earth?

▪ Climate change is attributed to CO2 emissions.  But when we look at this scripture, the earth changed not because of CO2 emissions but due to Cain’s evil activities.

▪ Climate change is the earth's response to man’s activities - shedding innocent blood through wars, murder, genocide, kidnappings

▪ As ambassadors, the earth must feel our impact

▪ I am the Jesus Christ that the World needs right now.

4. Close

▪ We have gained more insight into our role in creation as kingdom people.

▪ As God continues to give us instructions and divine ideas to be fruitful, multiply, replenish the earth, subdue it, and have dominion - Will we obey Him and walk in the real blessing?

Blessed is He who when His master comes shall see him so doing

Homework

▪ Do some soul searching on what God is leading you to do based on His blessing in Genesis 1

▪ Meditate on these scriptures
